ATLSBS Group: Introduction

ATLSBS Mission Statement:

The Atlanta Small Business Server Group was formed to help meet the needs of IT Consultants serving the Small & Mid-Sized Business segments. Through a variety of outlets including monthly meetings, web site pages, and e mails, members are given the opportunity to learn new skills, network with peers, and contribute back to the local community.

This group was founded by Olivier Havette of The Net Doctor, and Rick Butler of Agility IT Solutions of Atlanta.

The goal of this new organization is to promote stronger relationships between fellow Small Business IT Consultants; consultants that typically support clients using Small Business Server as the core of their IT setup.

ATLSBS will be hosting monthly meetings held on the first Wednesday of every month, from 4:30PM to 6:30PM. These meetings will be held at the office of The Net Doctor, located at 1990 Defoor Avenue, located just NW of the Howell Mill Road exit off of I-75 in NW Atlanta.

The first few meetings will be scheduled as follows:

5 December

9 January (NOTE: this is the SECOND Wednesday of the month!)

6 February

5 March

2 April

Each meeting will feature two segments: Technical & Business. The former will be topics specific to our needs, such as VOIP, Vista deployment, or Disaster Recovery. The latter will feature topics to help us manage our businesses, such as Legal Expertise or Improving Cash Flow. Many of us have a technical, and not business-oriented, background. ATLSBS will work to bring resources to help us learn how to improve our internal business processes and procedures.

There will be a short break between sessions, allowing members to socialize and learn more about their peers within the group. Be sure to bring plenty of business cards to each meeting; Networking opportunities will be present!

It is planned to have a “super” event quarterly … these events will feature a variety of vendors that cater to the SMB arena, and are trying to reach those of us that cater to that market. More details on this are forthcoming.

The group’s URL is www.atlsbs.com. For now, it just directs you to our Yahoo group Home Page. Please join that group, and be a part of ongoing discussion of ATLSBS-related issues. Plans are moving forward at this very moment to have our permanent web site established.

If you have any questions, contact us via info@atlsbs.com

Sincerely,

The ~NEW~ ATLSBS Group
